StorageMart Implements Shift4’s End-to-End Payment Solution

StorageMart’s on-premise and eCommerce transactions will be secured and powered by Shift4’s unified commerce ecosystem.

COLOMBIA, Mo. and ALLENTOWN, Pa.  – Dec. 14, 2021 StorageMart, the largest privately owned self-storage company in the world, today announced they will be implementing end-to-end payment processing from Shift4, the leader in integrated payments and commerce technology.

Shift4’s unified commerce ecosystem simplifies the entire payment experience for businesses by providing every component of the payments process from a single vendor. This includes the software integration, secure payment devices, PCI-validated point-to-point encryption, mobile and contactless technologies, advanced reporting and business intelligence, and more.

StorageMart had been utilizing Shift4’s payment gateway services in combination with multiple other systems before upgrading to Shift4’s full end-to-end solution. The company is now able to integrate their proprietary point-of-sale platform directly to Shift4, who will secure and power all eCommerce and card-present transactions in StorageMart’s 177 U.S. locations.

Shift4 Payments: One Year Later, Data Shows Accelerating Recovery as Transaction Volume Grows

March exhibited record-high end-to-end payment volume as vaccinations roll out and states begin to ease capacity restrictions.

ALLENTOWN, Pa. & LAS VEGAS — April 8, 2021 — (Business Wire) — Shift4 Payments (NYSE: FOUR), the leader in integrated payment processing solutions, recently marked the one-year anniversary of its launch of Shift4Cares.com, a website that the company created to raise funds and increase awareness for U.S. merchants facing the economic brunt of the COVID-19 pandemic. Since its launch, the site has served as a resource for news outlets, businesses, and government agencies, providing valuable transaction volume data to assess the ongoing economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As the data on Shift4Cares.com has revealed, merchants in the hospitality sector experienced a severe decline one year ago at the pandemic’s start, with restaurant and hotel transactions plummeting nearly 75% during March of 2020. The data has shown transaction volume recovered somewhat steadily from May through October of 2020 but experienced declines throughout the holiday months of November and December 2020 as cases spread and increased restrictions were put in place. Since January 2021 there has been an accelerated recovery in transaction volumes with March 2021 representing a 215% increase from the pandemic “trough” level in April 2020.

This recent surge in transactions, along with many new merchants joining the platform, drove a record-breaking month and quarter for Shift4 in terms of end-to-end payment volume. March end-to-end volume was $3.3B in 2021, up 40% from February 2021 and 82% from the prior year. This is especially notable when considering that many states are still operating with significant capacity restrictions in place for businesses.

In looking at regional details, it is clear that spring break travel is playing a significant role in transaction recovery. Five of the top ten cities for transaction volumes in March were in Florida, and Las Vegas entered the top ten for the first time since the pandemic started. Hotel transaction volume was the fastest growing industry category, although hotel transaction volume remains ~20% below pre-pandemic levels.

Isaacman is donating the three mission seats alongside him to crew members who will be selected to represent the mission pillars of leadership, hope, generosity and prosperity.

Isaacman and the Inspiration4 crew will undergo commercial astronaut training by SpaceX on the Falcon 9 launch vehicle and Dragon spacecraft, including a specific focus on orbital mechanics, operating in microgravity, zero gravity, and other forms of stress testing. They will receive emergency preparedness training, spacesuit and spacecraft ingress and egress exercises, as well as partial- and full-mission simulations. The mission will launch from historic Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida and will be carefully monitored at every step by SpaceX mission control as the spacecraft orbits the planet every 90 minutes along a customized flight path. Upon conclusion of the multi-day journey, Dragon will reenter Earth’s atmosphere for a soft water landing off the coast of Florida.

Isaacman has given St. Jude two seats on the Inspiration4 mission. The first seat is reserved for a St. Jude ambassador with direct ties to the mission who exemplifies the pillar of Hope as well as the courageous vision upon which St. Jude was founded – compassion, unity, equality and inclusion. The second seat will represent the mission pillar of Generosity. During the month of February, members of the public can enter for a chance to join the flight to space and support the lifesaving mission of St. Jude

Isaacman has committed to give $100 million to St. Jude and is inviting everyone to join him in attempting to raise upwards of $200 million or more in support of St. Jude’s multi-billion dollar expansion aimed to accelerate research advancements and save more children worldwide. He will also offer additional support to the St. Jude fundraising effort in the form of other prizes, including flights in a military jet and flight gear. An accomplished pilot rated to fly commercial and military aircraft, Isaacman holds several world records including a Speed-Around-The-World flight to raise money and awareness for the Make-a-Wish Foundation. He has flown in over 100 airshows as part of the Black Diamond Jet Team, dedicating every performance to charitable causes. In 2011, Isaacman co-founded what would become the world’s largest private air force, Draken International, to train pilots for the United States Armed Forces.
